A branding assignment that's doughy, deep-fried and delicious.
When the owners of Freak Lunchbox – Halifax’s famous candy store – decided to branch out into doughnuts, they reached out to the District team to design the new brand. Fortune Doughnuts, as their new venture was named, called for an exploration of all things supernatural: fortune tellers, mediums, Ouija boards and other symbols of the occult. We may have tested a few too many doughnuts along the way. While we’ll never know whether the powers of darkness had a hand in our design process, in the end we were rewarded with the vision of a three-eyed black cat which paired perfectly with mind-melting iconography of severed hands, stigmata-inducing doughnuts and more.
The Fortune Doughnuts brand was awarded gold in Craft, gold in Logo Design and gold in Brand Identity at the 2019 Ice Awards.
District also picked up awards in the print, packaging and OOH categories.
