Nova Scotia is famous for beautiful coastlines and unspoiled beaches – it’s what over 300,000 cruise ship visitors travel here to find, along with exploring Halifax’s historic downtown. Working with Discover Halifax and the Port of Halifax, we reinvented the Cruise Terminal Visitor Greeting Area to welcome cruise visitors to the city in style. We designed the space around a flexible visitor zone, sculptural elements that celebrated the region’s rugged nature, and interactive AI-powered displays.

As a focal point for the greeting area, we created a hanging sculpture using reclaimed materials and rope salvaged from shoreline clean-up along the coast of Nova Scotia. Called “Together We Are Stronger”, it is designed to celebrate all things community, the East Coast ethos of coming together to make things better, and of course to highlight the very real problem of ocean waste on our shores.
